The pandemic has witnessed countless teams and companies switch to working remotely. Everyone will agree that the most difficult aspect of working from home is quality communication between team members. That has led to a fight for domination between Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. Let's see how Teams hold up against the competition!

Microsoft Teams offers a slightly larger ecosystem than Meet and Zoom. The Android app contains several screens for notifications, chat, calendar, files from OneDrive, and tasks. These features are supposed to allow users to use a single app for business-related conversations. Users with a paid subscription can also use the mobile app to schedule and hold meetings. While you can call people from your contact list, you can't hold a meeting that you can share with other people.

Inside the call, you can easily access or disable the microphone and webcam. Also, screen sharing works great from your mobile device, in case you need to show something quickly. The app integrates well with OneDrive, and organizations that use Microsoft 365 will quickly find that they depend on Microsoft completely. The features among different online conferencing tools are quite similar, and Teams is no exception. However, Microsoft seriously lacks the feature to add a Teams meeting for Outlook Calendar. The only option is to schedule a Skype call.

Under the hood, the app has its problems. Many users have reported that messages take several minutes to send, despite otherwise normal app behavior. Another problem that was widely reported is that users don't receive notifications regularly until they actually open the app.

The competition for video conferencing is fierce, and Microsoft is losing the battle to Google and Zoom in terms of app quality. However, each of these programs is aimed at businesses, organizations, and educational institutions. If you use Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), you will also use Meet. If you already purchased Microsoft 365, you'll probably use Teams. In either case, you should end up satisfied.
